kitchen detail

'We have lots of old 'kitchenalia' as they call it in the trade,' says Julie. 'Those fancy knives are new though. They are hand made by a brand new local company called 1804. Totally lovely things.' Julie has a collaboration in the works with 1804 on some printed leather goods...watch this space! Photo - Sean Fennessey, production - Lucy Feagins / The Design Files.

A great refinement of what architecture is today.

the campus

Yesterday a 3 hour seminar was cut short to only 1 hour. Hoping to be as productive as possible, I decided to take a quick stroll around the lake behind the campus. The fresh air and small hints of light shining through the forest made my morning a tiny bit better. I never realised how beautiful the campus actually is. Definitely a wonderful place for a 'one man person' walk, I think.

Starting to think that tiles are calling out to me. I'm so in love with the design!

back to bath

15th November

I've been meaning to start this blog for a long time now but due to uncertainty of timing, I had to hold this off for quite some time. I thought, so when can I actually start this?

I was waiting at the Victoria Coach Station in London for my ride back to Bath. While waiting, I couldn't help but feel unenthusiastic for my return. The night before, a friend and I attended a huge gig hosted in The Coronet Theatre, next to Elephant & Castle station. It was probably one of the best nights I've ever had. FLUME is an absolute genius, his technique and skills with the set were impeccable. We danced for 4 hours straight. Yes.

Anyway, back to my point. Getting on that coach back home meant that I would be departing a great weekend and arriving back to reality. Coursework, gym routine, cooking, cleaning, etc. Everything that defines a broke student.

The pictures below were what really caught my during my weekend break in London. The first one is a bathroom tile from my friend's home in Rosemary Garden. It reminded me a lot of FLUME's art decor used for his stage. The second one is just an empty box from Wasabi. I got to fulfill my dreams of eating sushi again. I swear I must've finished the meal in ten minutes.

Back to bath = back to reality.

Mind you, this blog isn't all about what goes on with my life. This first post is just a mere representation of my beginning with this project. Read the 'about' page and you'll know what it's for.

Enjoy!
